Meet Dawn
I’m Dawn Gendron, founder and instructor at Pilates by Dawn.
I believe Pilates should feel approachable, supportive, and adaptable to the person in front of me. My goal is to help clients build strength, improve mobility, and feel more confident in the way they move.
My Teaching Philosophy
Every person brings different goals, experiences, and ways of learning to Pilates. I focus on clear instruction, thoughtful progressions, and creating an environment where questions, modifications, and individual differences are welcome. I want clients to feel comfortable speaking up, asking questions, and letting me know what is or isn’t working for them. As someone with ADHD, I value an environment where different learning styles, personalities, and ways of experiencing movement are welcome.
Training & Qualifications
I am certified through Club Pilates, with 265 hours of training in Mat and Reformer Pilates. My training is based on the principles developed by Joseph Pilates and adapted for contemporary movement practices.
I have also completed a 12-CEC Trauma-Informed Teaching certificate. This training supports the way I teach by emphasizing communication, choice, personal boundaries, and respect for each client’s comfort level.
Together, these experiences shape a teaching style that is personalized, welcoming, and focused on helping you feel successful in your Pilates practice.
