During your first session, I’ll take some time to learn about your body, movement history, and goals. This includes:
Observing how you move and your posture
Asking about any past injuries, health conditions, or concerns
Understanding what you feel comfortable with during a Pilates session
Please know this process is done with complete respect for you and your body. There is no judgment on my part, just a chance for me to understand how best to support you on your Pilates journey. I only need to know what you feel comfortable sharing, and anything you share stays confidential.
You are always welcome to ask questions or share any preferences or concerns at any time. My goal is to create a safe, respectful space where you feel empowered and in control of your movement and comfort.
Each session lasts about 50 minutes and may include a mix of Mat and Reformer Pilates exercises along with props such as a ball, magic circle, or hand weights. Whether we work on building strength, improving balance, or increasing mobility, every session is customized just for you.
We’ll start with a quick check-in to see how you’re feeling, and I’ll explain the focus for that session. (Since I prepare your personalized exercises ahead of time, staying in touch between sessions is helpful, especially if you have new injuries or concerns.)
The exercises we do depend on what I learn about you during the initial consultation, such as your goals, abilities, and what you’re comfortable with.
Pilates foundations include breath work, along with controlled and precise (often very small) movements. You guide your body’s movements throughout the session, all within a safe and private environment.
